“For me there is only the traveling on the paths that have a heart, on any path that may have a heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge for me is to traverse its full length. And there I travel—looking, looking, breathlessly.” - Carlos Castaneda

2014 Animal Acupressure Training Classes & Certification Programs

The Animal Acupressure Training Academy provides students with a foundation in animal acupressure through the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its origins in the ancient wisdom of Taoism. The Academy's multi-modality certification programs provide students with the knowledge and skills to work effectively with animals. The classroom and distance learning programs emphasize knowledge of the foundational elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupressure; listening and tracking skills that employ sensitive touch, presence and stillness; and multi-modality energy-balancing sessions with animals in a clinical setting.

Enrollment in individual classes and certification programs

  • Students may take individual classes as desired or work toward completion of certification programs.

  • Certification programs allow students the flexibility to construct individualized programs from a variety of acupressure foundation classes and multi-modality healing arts classes.

  • Individual classes or programs may be entered at any time during the year, and programs do not have to be completed in a single calendar year.

  • Students pursuing the classroom option for either the 60-Hour or 100-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Programs must include the two foundation classes of Animal Acupressure: The Five Elements and Animal Acupressure: Meridians & Powerful Points, unless the students have had prior acupressure training.

  • All classes unless otherwise specified are two-day, 14 credit hours, $240 tuition per class.
  • Payments for classes within a certification program are made incrementally, class by class, rather than paying the total cost of the program up front.

  • Total cost of the 60-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program is $960.

  • Total cost of the 100-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program is $1,680.

  • Total cost of the 60-Hour Animal Acupressure Distance Learning Certification Program is $960.

  • Total cost of the 100-Hour Advanced Animal Acupressure Distance Learning Certification Program is $1,680.

  • A $50 deposit is required to reserve a space in the classroom. Deposits are fully refundable if a class is cancelled, or if a student cancels his or her registration within three days of the class.

  • A certificate of completion is provided for each class, and a 60-hour and a 100-hour certification of completion is provided respectively for each program.

  • Upon completion of a certification program, any class taken within that program may be repeated for $150 per class.

Classroom Programs

60-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program

The 60-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of animal acupressure through acupressure foundation classes and hands-on clinical practice sessions. Students completing this program will come away with the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience to give acupressure sessions to animals confidently and competently.

In addition to the two foundation classes of Animal Acupressure: The Five Elements and Animal Acupressure: Meridians & Power Points, students are strongly encouraged to take Tui Na (Acupressure Massage) for Animals and Assessment: Coming to Your Senses. These four core classes provide the knowledge and mastery of hands-on techniques necessary for gaining expertise in working with animals.

The 60-Hour program consists of:
  • Four classes (56 hours)

  • Clinical Practice Sessions (4 hours, no cost)

  • Consultation

Clinical Practice consists of documenting ten energy-balancing sessions with animals, based on a simple form and guidelines for assessment and approach to the session provided by the Academy. The intent of clinical practice sessions is to bring together the student's knowledge and skills acquired in the program by working independently with animals.

The Consultation with the Academy Director at the completion of the program is designed to review the student's program strengths and future direction for deepening into energy work with animals.

Students receive a 60-hour certificate of completion for this program.

Payments for classes within this certification
program are made incrementally, class by class.

Total 60-Hour Program Cost: $960

100-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program

The 100-Hour Animal Acupressure Certification Program is designed to deepen students' knowledge of Taoism and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from a wide selection of other Academy acupressure foundation classes, as well as hands-on healing arts modality classes.

The 100-Hour program consists of:
  • Seven classes (98 hours)

  • Clinical Practice Sessions (2 hours, no cost)

  • Consultation

The 100-Hour program offers the option of taking, with the approval of the Academy Director, two of the seven classes as distance learning classes. This option allows students to choose from the complete list of Academy classes in their individualized programs and saves on travel costs and disruption of work schedules.
